Welcome to part two of my Ugandan journey!!

Well, we officially have 15 days until we are back in America!! Ministry has been absolutely amazing, and I’ve been learning so much in my quiet times! So, those are the two things that we will be going into in this blog today!!

So, what has ministry been like??

Well, I’m so glad you asked! Ministry has been a lot of evangelism, bible studies, and preaching at churches around us! Evangelism has been great and super fruitful, and the Lord even led me to give away my personal bible that I brought on the field with me. Now, I’ll be completely honest it was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made on the field, but there was a different joy that was on that man’s face when I handed it to him. That same day, I met a man who’s name I will not share for confidentiality reasons, who was born again and believes in God with all his heart and soul, but never had the time to go to church or bible studies. So, I encouraged him in his walk with the Lord and invited him to bible study, and every time he shows up, again he just has this certain joy about him! So, I have been using the time of bible studies, when he shows up, to really pour into his cup and disciple him. Now let’s get to church, last week I had the awesome opportunity to speak on a topic that I honestly do not think is talked about enough in church. And that topic is… how to suffer in/with/and for Christ. It’s a heavy topic I know, but that is what the Lord led me to talk about, and I know that it was fruitful as well!

Now, what about my quiet times?

Well, I have been doing something a little bit different since Kenya debrief, and it has been a really cool way to study the bible. So, what’s that you may ask? I am doing a very detailed study of the books of the bible. I started off with Hebrews and learned so much there, but I won’t go into those details, for time purposes, but I will however tell you about what I’m reading right now! So, I finished Hebrews and then the Lord led me to do this “deep dive” on the book of Romans. It took me an entire week to get through chapter one and that is because I have steps that I am doing. What are those steps? Well, I am diving into the history of each chapter and what the apostle Paul is actually addressing in each chapter. Then after that, I go verse by verse and break it down in the Greek, KJV, and NLT versions (this has been a game changer for bible studies). But how do I read the Greek? Blue letter Bible is and app that you can get on your phone that translates from KJV or CSB into Greek and then you can look into each word and learn the meaning behind each word. Then, finally after I do that, I compare what I wrote down to an actual breakdown of each verse on a website called: BibleHub.com. This is what I learned, Romans was written around 57-58 AD, the population of Rome at the time was around 1 million people including a large Jewish community numbering anywhere between 40,000-50,000 people, the Jewish presence in Rome dated all the way back to the 2nd century BC, and the origins of the Roman church was likely formed from Jewish immigrants that came back to Rome after travelling to hear Jesus preach and brought his teachings back to Rome. That’s just some of the history, it gets so much deeper than that. In Romans 1 Paul is addressing the Jewish and Gentile converts and telling them that neither of them are of greater value to God, and also talking about the righteous anger that God has towards sin. That is enough of that though. I hope you all enjoyed this blog and I just ask now that you all keep me in your prayers for my reentry into America, and for my fundraising to be completed by the time I get home. Thank you, and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
